Successful Business Plans

If you are looking to develop a marketing plan then you must be a business owner or marketing manager or you could be a beginner or pragmatic do-it-yourself kind of a person. Either way, the main goal in developing the business plans is to develop these plans in a logical way so you can accomplish your goals.

The essential contents of any marketing or business plan are its standard components. Every business plan must have a specific situation and the need to fit the situation, then it must possess a marketing strategy, sales forecast and expense budget.

A SWOT analysis that includes strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as well competitive analysis. For example, for years, Apple Computers used its proprietary operating system as a competitive edge while on the other hand, Microsoft used its market share and market dominance to suppress Apple's earlier performance and advantage as a market leader. But these essentials are not the ideal components but just the minimum requirement.

The competitive edge can be different from other competitors and you don't have to be a competitive edge to be a successful business rather hard work, integrity and customer satisfaction can substitute for it. The most important successfull business planning can start with a customer need because your whole marketing strategy revolves around this phenomenon starting from product development to fulfilling customer need better than the existing competitors.
